Lo stile di Marcus Miller è una combinazione fra groove soul e incredibile abilità tecnica, caratteristiche che hanno fatto di lui uno dei più noti virtuosi del basso jazz al mondo.
Anche il Fender Marcus Miller Jazz Bass V cinque corde è pieno di soul: ha corpo in frassino con l'originale battipenna nero e il manico dal profilo a C con raggio di curvatura da 7.25” e la tastiera in acero con binding bianco e segnatasti in madreperla a blocco e finitura satinata, a cui si aggiunge la firma di Marcus sulla paletta. La magia del suono esce da due pickup vintage-style Jazz Bass single-coil e da un preamp a 16 volt; l'equalizzatore attivo a due bande ha un miniswitch per selezionare la modalità di funzionamento attivo/passivo. Tra le altre caratteristiche ricordiamo la copertura per i pickup cromata, i potenziometri zigrinati cromati per il volume e i potenziometri Jazz Bass neri per i toni, il ponte Badass® Bass II™ e la placca di giunzione a tre viti.
